Black Mountain Train Station: teachers, students, and visitors arrived by train or motor car. Neither mode was particularly comfortable on two lane mountainous roads or the Southern Railway coaches.

Lee Hall: overlooking the town of Black Mountain and Swannanoa Valley with the Black Mountains in the background. More than 100 rooms, housed both faculty and students in the first years. The large cavernous lobby was used for formal meetings and gatherings, and on Saturday afternoons the radio was tuned to broadcasts of the opera.

Around Lee Hall are a number of small cottages, which were winterized and used by faculty families with children.

Studies Building: "The Studies Building was the heart of the campus. One walked down a hall between cubicles on either side, some with doors closed, some open, students and teachers painting, studying, listening to music, talking; easy access to classes and faculty; nature in full cry out every window." ĞM.C. Richards

Quiet House: erected by the College to commemorate two fatal accidents, and to provide a place for quiet meditation.
